afternoon all, I was wondering if anyone knew what Ammo would have been shot by the military through a winder musket trainer in 1917-1918? Would it have been an Olin? Or possibly another manufacture? I may be setting up a single weapon display and would like to male sure I use the correct Ammo.

Don’t know, but no reason to think the military would confine itself to WRA ammo. Best .22 ammo of the time was either Peters’ Semi-Smokeless or Remington’s Lesmoke, but those brands may have cost more than the Army was willing to pay for practice ammo.

The U.S. Army bought the ammo from Winchester, but it was pre Olin.

Usually ammo bought by the military was shipped with non commercial labels attached to each box. I don’t know for sure but I have a few Winchester boxes for military ammo.
