I HAVE A POSTER ADVERTISING-"WINCHESTER 20 GAUGE SHOTGUNS
HAMMERLESS. LIGHT AND STRONG." IT HAS TWO BLACK & WHITE SETTER
DOGS IN MEADOW GRASS..THE COLORS HAVE FADED SOME, IT IS SHOWN
ON PAGE 739 IN DAVID KOWALSKI’S STANDARD CATALOG..I THINK THAT IS
AN ORIGINAL POSTER. IT HAS CUT DOWN SOME, MORE THAN LIKELY BECAUSE SOMEONE CUT OFF ANY TEARS, OR HOLES. HOW WOULD I EVER
BE ABLE TO KNOW IF IT IS THE REAL THING. I HAVE HAD IT FOR 13 YEARS OR MORE. ANY IDEAS, WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
Send me a picture.
Also if you have it framed take it out and look at the backs. If you have had it for 13 years its a good chance its original and been cut down. Sadly that take all the value away but it makes them more affordible to collect.
Bringing this thread up again. Have a more recent version of this Winchester advertising poster (believe it’s titled “First Scent”). It is in excellent condition, measures 27” H x 18” W, is in a frame and the dog in the foreground is raised/in relief. There is a white Winchester/Olin copyright sticker disclaimer on the back indicating reproductions or copies are not allowed.
Does anyone know how old the piece is and willing to take a stab at the approximate value?
Thanks
