My friend who lives close to Dubois WY recently told me that a Dan Starks is building

a large Winchester Museum that will be open next year, 2020 I guess.  Anyone know

anything about this ?

He’s building a tank museum and he considering a room for his Winchesters, quote.. “A complete personal collection of every Winchester gun model from the company’s founding in 1866 to the sale of the company in 1966– even a few that the Cody Winchester Museum does not have– is also being considered”

Vince,

I am confused… why does he believe “the company” was sold in 1966 ? The original Winchester Repeating Arms Company (WRACo) changed hands just twice, once in late 1931 (when Olin purchased it out of bankruptcy), and then second time was December 1980 when Olin sold it to the newly formed U.S. Repeating Arms Company (U.S.R.A.Co).

Don’t know Bert. I just quoted the new article. Here’s the link.  https://www.gillettenewsrecord.com/news/wyoming/article_79a6e1c7-caa3-5a92-b30b-34031055bbd6.html

He apparently has a ton of military arm and tanks. He made a ton of money being CEO of St. Jude Medical Center.  It will be terrific museum, if his vision comes to fruition.

Edited to include the following … ” Starks stepped down as president and CEO on Jan. 1 and became executive chairman. Little Canada-based St. Jude (NYSE: STJ) reported his total compensation as $2.6 million in his final year on the job, down from $10.1 million the year before, according to Securities and Exchange Commission filings.”
