steve004 said I don’t ever recall seeing a 3 gauge shotgun.

Think it’s a misprint, or an 8 g. mis-read as a 3.

At least one other error; 38-55 introduced in 1884, not 1894. “Liquid Glass” appears to be Lucite or similar material, pretty sure shipping will be expensive.

3 gauge shot shells were made.  I don’t know by who but they were made.  Google it.

Maybe so, but I looked through several 1870-80 catalogs without finding anything larger than 4 g.  There were punt guns that large & larger, but they were all muzzle-loaders.

U.M.C. made brass 3 gauge shells. They were blanks for yacht guns.

It’s cool but made by a collector.  Most of the rare ones are missing.
