I started out collecting full boxes of early 22’s of mostly Winchesters. The started out collecting Winchester center fire for rifles in my collection. Then it was on to ammo for my S&W collection. Here is a pic of a small amount of my collection. I have much more.  Big Larry

Larry,  Your “Precision 200” is the one I’d steal first; loaded with Lesmoke.  Have always wanted to shoot at 200 yds, but 150 is limit at my range.  BIG hit diff between 100 & 150 (100% vs 50% offhand), so at 200, maybe 0%.

I’ve been hording vintage ammo for a long time… started selling it off at Cody last year and will be bringing more this July.  But it’s hard to stop… I still buy vintage boxes when I see them if they are nice (full or empty)!  I have a friend that lives near me, (Richard Rains) that make my accumulation seem very, very, very… insignificant…. 🙂

plus over 200 .50 cal ammo cans full of more ammo & dozens of milk crates filled with bullets & brass… then there’s the powder & primers…. finally, I somehow got caught up in accumulating vintage reloading presses too!  Hello… my name is Ben…and I’m a gun-a-holic…. it’s been 3 days since my last purchase…

I spied with my little eye that Winchester Tool.

Nice collection. What kind of filing cabinet is that your using to store them in? Looks perfect for the job.

Sincerely,

Maverick

It’s an American Dental Cabinet from the late 1950’s… I have two of them.  They come in different sizes & colors.  I’m always watching Craigslist & Ebay to try to buy a couple more…if they are close by.   Yes, they do work great for ammo…. also gun tools, gauges and knives… etc.

Wonderful collection, Ben!  See you’ve got one of the Rem counter-top .22 cases–much nicer than the ones made by Win.  But I think the item I like best is the Marble’s Game-Getter poster, first one I’ve seen; always wanted a Game-Getter since seeing picture of one as a kid.

Ben –

That is VERY impressive.  What I do see at work here is the power of time.  As the years go by, and one adds to their collection every year… well… you’re an excellent example of where a guy can end up Laugh

It would really be something if you could display everything you have Cool

Let me add, the friend you have who makes your collection look very insignificant… I can’t get my head around that.

Must be like these blow-your-mind collections of cars, motorcycles, juke-machines, antiques, etc, that show up on American Pickers–buildings the size of airplane hangers crammed so full it’s hard to move around in them, or even to get out anything they want to buy.
