Had a chance to do some hunting with my 1876 Winchester 40/60wcf last wk. Late in the day I came across this Wt. buck chasing a doe and the two of them were so occupied with their courtship ritual, that neither paid any attention to their surroundings. When the buck decided to stop and scent check the does last spot ,was my chance for a shot. The shot was broadside at 110yd. and at the shot he sprang into the air made a dash of about 30yd. and went down for good. The 210gr. Winchester soft cast bullet entered low in the chest and made an impressive exit wound. This load used was 210gr. bullet cast from the original mould from pure lead .Lube was deer tallow and beeswax, over 55gr.by volume of 2ff Swiss bp. Std. Win. lg. rifle primer, in a Jamison case. One of my favorite ways to spend a day, Chasing game with a Classic Winchester. ,,,DT
