Experience or comments on these? I’m not much of a factory ammunition guy but I found them interesting. Maybe some would prefer to shoot less than full-power loads in their old .30-30’s. Like everything, they are presently out of stock. I wonder if they were ever much of a seller.

I have loaded reduced loads in 30-06 for a young hunter with mixed results. They performed well on game with proper shot placement but there were some know-it-all skeptics.

I do the same for plinking with my ’03, using the lightest bullets I can buy–feels like recoil from a .30-30. Wouldn’t hunt with such loads, however, but shooting steel produces few cripples.
I have done a lot of with reduced loads. I had used Trail Boss for years in various lever action rifles (.38-40, .40-65 and on and on). Then I became aware of the practice of using Trail Boss in modern chamberings such as .243, .30-06, 7mm mag, .300 Win. mag and so on – with jacketed bullets! My favorite has been using it in my .375 H&H magnum. I’ve not hunted with these loads but they make for fun for the whole family at the range. Here is the Hodgdon loading sheet:
