Well back to the range today.Took a Winchester Model 64 Deer Rifle .30-30(different one from my last trip),Winchester Model 64 Sporting Rifle .32 Winchester Special and a Winchester Model 63 .22 .Buddy had a 6.5 Swedish Mauser and a .22 Martini Henry.
Bit windy but we had a good time.Mostly just standing and shooting free hand and having fun.
Another trip to the range today.Had my Winchester Model 55 .30 WCF,a Winchester Model 64 Deer Rifle 30-30 and a Winchester Model 1886 45-70.Buddy had an Australian target rifle 308 and a Browning A Bolt 223 with a target barrel.
Shooting free hand at 50 yards with iron sights ,put the six cartridges I fired from the 45-70 all in an eight inch circle, with one of them in the two inch bullseye. With the 36 cartridges I fired from the two 30-30 rifles ,put thirty of them in the eight inch circle with two of them in the two inch bullseye. The other six were in the twelve inch circle.
No John Wayne shooting, but for myself pretty good.
Another afternoon at the range.Today was a big bore day for me.Had a Model 1895 405,Model 1886 45-70 and Model 1886 50-110.Buddy had an Austrian Mauser 8 MM,Steyr straight pull 8MM and a single shot Martini Henry 22.
Did well with the 405 and 45-70 ,with 11 shots out of the 405 , put 10 in the 8 inch circle ,with one of those in the two inch bullseye and the other shot fired in the 12 inch circle. With 14 shots out of the 45-70, 12 were in the 8 inch circle with two of those in the two inch bullseye, while the other two shots were in the 12 inch circle. Not prefect, but pretty good for me.
Could not say I did well at all with the 50-110.Just could not seem to shoot it well at all.Perhaps the longer heavier 26 inch barrel had something to do with that? Not sure. The 405 had a 24 inch barrel and the 45-70 a 22 inch barrel.
Shots were taken free hand at 50 yards.
Out again today.Took a Winchester Model 1895 405 WCF,Winchester Model 07 351 WSL and Winchester Model 64 Deer Rifle 32 WS.Buddy had a Winchester Model 1910 401 WSL,Martini Henry 303 British and an Australian made target rifle 308 WCF.
Fired 16 shots with the 405 WCF,one just hitting the edge of the two inch circle, eight in the 8 inch circle,6 in the 12 inch circle and one in the 16 inch circle.Fifty yards free hand
Fired 20 shots with the 32 WS,four just hitting the edge of the two inch circle, fifteen in the eight inch circle and one in the 14 inch circle.Twelve shots at fifty yards free hand and eight shots at 65 yards free hand.
Fired 16 shots with the 351 WSL,eleven shots in the eight inch circle and five in the 12 inch circle.Shots fired free hand at 50 yards.
No crack shooting, but quite happy with my results, but the main thing was we got to do some shooting and had a good time.
Glad to hear someone is tearing up some targets. Im envious. Its been several months since Ive gotten the chance. Havent even had a chance to continue ballistics tests on some of these feral hogs around here.

Out again on Saturday .Had the same rifles as last time ,Model 07.351,Model 1895.405 and Model 64 Deer Rifle.32 Special. For some reason, most of my shots were in the right hand upper corner, instead of in the centre area.
At 50 yards shooting free hand with the 405 I had, 1 in the two inch circle,6 in the eight inch circle,6 in the twelve inch circle and 3 in the thirteen inch circle.
With the 351 at 50 yards free hand, 6 in the eight inch circle,4 in the twelve inch circle, 4 in the fifteen inch circle and two off paper.
With the 32 Special at 50 yards free hand,2 in the two inch circle,5 in the eight inch circle,4 in the twelve inch circle and one off paper.Shooting eight shots at 65 yards ,3 in the eight inch circle and 5 in the twelve inch circle.
