I am looking for some load data for the 35 WCF if anyone would like to share. I have the 250 & 200 Hornady jacketed bullets and 210 gc cast (358315). I am going to use an old bag of Buffalo Arms 30-40 stretched brass 2.4095-2.41. I am looking at using 3031, but open to all recommendations. OAL with the different bullets as well, Thanks!

I used Hornady 250 grain round nose soft points with 3 different powders.  With 3031 I used 44.5 grs for 2170 fps.  I don’t remember what the OAL was but I always make a dummy round that will cycle through the action.  Then I try different seating depths trying to find accuracy.  I don’t measure OAL after I find the max length.  I measure base to ogive of the bullet.  This is how all bullets should be seated.   OAL is just for magazine or action lengths.

My load consists of a Speer 250 gr. bullet, 46.0 gr. IMR 3031, a Federal match primer, and a Bertram case. Overall cartridge length is 3.160”. I’ve used this load in my model 1895 successfully on two nice bull moose.  One was taken about 225 yards out.

I have some reformed cases from 30-40 Krag brass. I have yet to use them.

Did you chronograph this load?  Seems like it would be a little hot?

Likely years ago. That information has been lost to time. I loaded about 80 rounds 20 years ago and just shoot those when I choose to use that rifle. The problem I have every moose season is many Winchesters to choose from and only one moose tag per household. I cycle through them. Maybe this September I’ll take this rifle afield again.
