On a recent hunt I used my Winchester 1876 40/60wcf 22″OBR. to take two wild pig and one Wt. buck. All three animals were taken using the original Winchester bullet soft cast from an original mould . 210gr. @ 406″ ,55gr.by volume 2ff Swiss bp. tallow/beeswax lube and a std. Winchester lg. rifle primer in a Jamison case . The pigs were shot at 75 and 85 yd . both in the neck and went down on the spot. The Wt. buck was shot at 110yd. low in the chest and made it about 30yd. before going down. The old 1876 Winchester is still today a very deadly hunting rifle ,just as it was in Circa 1884. Hope the pic. works. ,,,,DT
Sounds like a good hunt Dusty. The hogs have been gone from y place near Giddings for the past three months. Nice not to have the problems they cause but I do miss having them as targets for the various “hog control” utensils I own!!
