Fun Morning in the Woods with My Model 97|Winchester Hunting, Shooting & Reloading|Forum|Winchester Collector

It has been very windy here the last several days. Winds were predicted to be calmer yesterday morning so I decided to break out the ’97 and see if I could bag some bushy tails.

I love deer hunting but for some reason I’ve always enjoyed small game hunting. Unfortunately, in my area small game consists of rabbits and squirrels. Although I have tons of rabbits in my yard, I can’t remember the last time that I kicked up one will out hunting.

The ’97 functioned flawlessly with my reloads of #5 shot. The one squirrel was taken at about 40 yards. Not too shabby with a shotgun.
