2020 was one of the best deer seasons I’ve had in a long time. Early opening morning I had this buck show up down hill and to my right some 60 yards off. I immediately knew I wanted him. As he passed behind a big oak I got my 375 up and ready. When he walked into the clear I hit him with a down loaded Speer 235 grain bullet. He bolted an I knew he wouldn’t make it far. He was the first non-typical I’ve ever killed. Sixteen points, 26” wide and body wise a hog. I should have him on the wall of the man cave by turkey season. Rifle was made in ‘57 an it was our first deer hunt together. A few days later from the same stand I heart shot this doe with my LW in 33 WCF. She didn’t make it far before she crashed. This ‘86 was made in 1910.
What a fine deer season you had. Love that atypical rack. I use downloaded 235 grain speer bullets in my .375 H&H. A very fine combination. And as one of the bigger fans of the .33 WCF here, I was thrilled to see that you had success with yours this year. Congratulations and thanks for posting.
