I think I enjoyed that old video more than any I can recall in a very long time. Thanks for sharing Brian.
I took my first moose last Fall with a 71 Deluxe and a Winchester 200 grain Silvertip.
What was ol’ Jack the Cree’s saying on here about the Silvertip?? I couldn’t quite make it all out. It is at about the 6 and a half minute mark, just after the old fella dropped the buck.

Great Video! I love the part when the gross hunter just throws the empty shell box on the ground. Nothing wrong with doing that. I also wouldn’t mind having that TENT.

Old Jack say "She say Socko!" for the Silvertips. He says it again at the end of the film.
Haven’t heard the terms "Taylor mades" or "Rocking Chair antlers" for a long while but it brings back the memories of Dad and his hunting buddies around the camp in the 50s and 60s when I was kid.

I believe the scenes were reacted later after the game had already been bagged for the camera.Looking closely I notice no sign of recoil from either the rifle or shotgun shots fired.

I watched it over again and it does not look like he actually fired the rifle at the deer or the moose.

Guys, I was being totally sarcastic. Obviously the hunting scenes were totally staged. Like the guide and the Parm checking out the one moose track they find in the only patch of soft earth in the middle of the barrel rock outcrop. What luck that the moose just happened to step there. And how the guide rushes to the moose and then signals to the much slower Parm so that he can find him and the moose. It is a cute and vintage old movie but not realistic in any way. Not so different from modern "hunting shows" that show the hunter blood tracking the lost white tail toward where the camera is already at the animal. That is the "where is the remote?" moment for me.

Just thought, with the way you were able to get a few of us with the way you worded the statement about the scene with the shot with the guide,that you might have been.I know quite a few fellows who word things like that just to see if you are on the ball. 🙂

Great old promo! I personally like that it brought me back in time to red plaid coats , sharp knife and a good Winchester. I find todays society has all the hunters brainwashed in fancy camouflage, calls, optics, firearms and the view that you have to trophy hunt. People loose touch in why we hunt,to put some good food on the table.
