I load and shoot the .40-60 WCF in an original 1876 rifle. It’s sort of like a super .44-40. About the same weight of bullet, more powder. Heavy rifle but I understand it was popular with wolf hunters. Theodore Roosevelt liked the cartridge, so that is saying something.
