The smell of the Hoppe’s Number 9 is not one that women  seem  attracted to Chris, but men do seem to like it.Smile

The smell of the old paper shotshells is one of the nicest smells I can think of.No doubt there is a market for it out there somewhere.Smile

What rifle were you shooting in .32 Special?

I may have mis-typed, it was a 32 winchester special bullets.  A year or two ago my fater-in-law bought some Hornady 32 caliber 165 grain FTX bullets in .321 so he could load them for his 32-40 model 1894 carbine.  We worked up several loads that worked good.  He liked the way the FTX bullets performed in his other guns (45-70 1886 and 30 WCF). My only criticism in loading these bullets is you need a conical shaped seating die because sometimes the plastic tip may get a little compressed and the OAL may be a little off by a few thousandths–if I remember right.  I havent yet tried them in the 32 winchester special.

For 32 Spcl & 32-40 , Mine have worked best with the standard 32 Cal Dia. of 321 jacketed and 322 GC cast .My bores are uniform and close in tolerance , both Cals.

I have used standard 8mm bullets (.323 ) cast 180 -200 gr. , and accuracy fell off at this larger dia, so further tests favoured bullets working better effortlessly, so havent done that much experimenting in all guns with .323  , but I suspect it would be too big for all mine

And with 324 Dia. (if not a typo )

Im guessing that is your problem , as this would be too much constriction, and possibly be wild

If You have good lead 8mm 323 bullets a good solution would be to press them thru a Lee bullet sizer ,with both 321 and 322 sizers , and experiment

When I was teaching high school, one of my students said her older sister wore Hoppe’s to snag her beau.  He was a hunter, but sis was a most successful huntress–She baited him all the way to the alter!
