That box IS quite rare. The $3 USPS postage turned me off though.

Probably the box of 22 shorts made expressly for the Krag M1898. I think it went for $4,000 or $7,000. I cannot remember. All I do now is my former BIL has a 98% 22 Krag and could not afford the ammo. Big Larry

Show this to the buyer of that box–might enable you to exchange it for retirement on your own island in the Caribbean.
Gotta believe that the bidding was being done on a box full of original ammo, despite the seller’s disclaimer about it being for a box only. Why else show a photo with all the ammo?

Since it is against xbay policy to sell ammo, it is common for the seller to “give” the content to the winner. Been that way for years.
