Hi, Welcome to the WACA forum!

The Model 67 Junior rifle was authorized on August 8, 1937 based on suggestions by Ad Topperwein.  Unfortunately, both the 67 and 68 “Junior”/”Youth” rifle production was lumped together with the 67 and 68 production numbers.  In the case of the Model 68 there were 98,496 rifles produced (of all variants).  29,507 Model 68 rifles were produced after August 1937 (when the Junior rifle was introduced) so the actual production of the un-catalogued Model 68 Junior rifle would be a very small sub-set of that but no actual production number exists.

Thank You much for your info. I thought that the model 68 junior rifle was fairly rare.

I just talked to Wayne Miller.  He told me that He recently sold one of His Youth Model 68 rifles at a local show.  I can’t think of anyone who would know more about bolt action Winchesters then Wayne.  If you would like to contact him I will give you his phone number.

Evidently, he is unaware of who is giving him info. I never heard of his buddy, but I do know Mr. JWA. Someone want to enlighten me? Thank you, Big Larry

Wayne Miller is a member of the OGCA, if I’m not mistaken and you can go on the OGCA website and he has a few articles written on Winchester .22 caliber rifles posted there from the newsletter. A retired Electrician, residing in Pa. and a collector for a long time.

Wayne Miller has been collecting Winchester .22’s longer than I have.  He has also produced some informative articles and would be an excellent source of additional information as he has owned more of them than me (I only have one of the 68 Junior rifles at present).

It is certainly worth contacting him and chatting.

Best Regards
