Just received a model 61 in 22 magnum I purchased off of Gunbroker. The rifle is in very good condition l, however I measured the barrel length from where the receiver stops and got 23 3/8″. It seems most sources show a 24″ barrel length. The rifle s/n is 298756. Thank you,

Most .22 Winchester rifle barrels are measured from the breech to the muzzle (which includes the threaded portion inside the receiver.) The quick method is to drop a cleaning rod down the bore with the bolt closed and then measure the rod at the point it exits the muzzle.

Much appreciated…this did indeed yield the proper measurement!
And, belatedly, Welcome to the WACA Forum!

Hello,
Was that the rifle purchased out of Peyton, Colorado? The rear sight elevator is not correct on that gun.

Yes sir, it was. Thank you for that information. Anything else that you noticed? I assume the sling attachments were added, although I have seen a few others with them. Thanks,
Richard
