Just picked up a Model 61 in S.L.LR.Rifle is in excellent condition. Not sure when I will get it to the range.Any one using one of these rifles?
No I never use any of these types of rifles! My only suggestion is buy large pieces of paper with multiple real small bulls eyes on them. All your holes end up on top of each other!!!!!

Last time I checked I only had two but we all know how those things work. 😉 They look mighty good racked up beside a Model 12 or maybe a 42.

Sounds like that could be good advice.:)Do your rifles prefer any type of ammunition?

I have not tried side by side comparisons of ammo type. All I know is that the squirrels hate whatever it is I shoot!! They keep falling out of the trees when I use it! But seriously, all of my ammunition is out at the ranch so I am not certain what brand I have for these. For the WRF chambered rifles I shoot the Winchester stuff.

Seems to me I read a review on line and that Model 61 seemed to prefer the heavier slower bullets. That rifle worked well with round nose bullets, but had some problems with some other bullets that were not round nose.
Guess I will find out for myself, when I get a chance to get mine to the range.
What type of squirrels do you hunt?Do you eat them or do you hunt them for pest control?

The squirrels around my ranch in central Texas just east of Austin about 45 miles are sort of a grey/fox squirrel mix. They are certainly smaller than the fox squirrels of Michigan where I grew up and they act differently in the trees. They move much more than a fox squirrel. I personally do not eat them but have a good friend who does. We will do a couple hunts a year if together or I put them in the freezer for him.

By that picture looks like your running out of room. Always a terrible problem to have.

Yes Maverick i am out of room. Thinking of selling some of the 94’s so that I can put up a few more of my 1892’s and the last couple 61’s. I actually stumbled into 2 more in boxes that I had forgotten about!!
