I have a Winchester model 1885 22 cal. High wall. It is complete except for the forearm stock. The trigger assembly seems to be missing something internal or it is something else as the lever just falls all by itself and the trigger just moves freely also. It is a nice old piece and was wondering if it had any value and just who if anyone would want it. I have no idea of how to sell this. If anyone could shed some light on this for me that would be great. I will send pictures to anyone who wants them.

yes it has some value. How much will depend on condition and what is missing. Jay

I was thinking of disassembling the 1885 rifle and parting it out. Is the barrel on this rifle a screw in barrel or is it pressed in. I do not want to try to back the barrel out and risk marking it up and damaging it. I’m thinking this should be done by a good gunsmith or could I get this barrel out myself?

Dave,

The barrels are threaded, but you should not try it yourself unless you have the proper vise and barrel clamp.
