Just wanted to share with the Winchester rim fire fans. A couple years to acquire high condition but a new interest for 22’s.

Can’t argue that Clarence. I have shooter duplicates for that very reason.

Rick,  I don’t collect the .22’s, but I do appreciate the condition and the attractive way you present them!  Well done!!  I must admit to having one model 1890 in so so condition.  Mom got it at a farm sale and it was my Christmas present one year after I was on active duty and collecting the centerfire lever actions.  Won’t part with it for anything!  She was so proud to present it to me!  I shoot it a bit each year and think of her each time I handle it.  Tim

Very nice display. Collecting rimfires is like a totally different endeavor for me with very little overlap other than the Single Shot…which is missing from your display. 😉

A SS to match the cond. of these others…that’s a horse of a different color.

Tim I completely understand and with your mom attached it would never be leaving the stable. Thanks & thank you for sharing your story.

Yes Mike I agree & I had an 85 musket in 22 Long rifle I acquired from Henry but of course it’s another regret after I sold it. I settled for a 1st year 9422 lever high condition instead which I really like but I certainly concur.

Needn’t go to that extreme–half a doz other much lower cost bolt-action SSs to choose from.

Saturday, I took my Grandson out  for a little shooting. He is 56 years old. I took an newly acquired 1st year M1906 in 22 short out to try out. Other than the short stock, that rifle was a blast to shoot. Like shooting a pellet gun. Some of the targets would not fall over. Nice rifle at about 95% with a mediocre bore. I love my 22’s. Not like my friend JWA, I have well over 100 22’s of all shapes and brands. 22’s are always fun to shoot.   Big Larry
