Hi, I am looking for any information that is out there on th WINCHESTER 1873 RIMFIRE .22 rifles. I need specific information on the bolt and carrier as far as their specific dimensions and any drawing available. I have found that few gunsmiths have the willingness to help me bring my rifles back to their best condition. Gunsmithing is a dying art.

thank you for any help you can give me.

The best drawings I know of are in George Stone’s book “The Winchester 1873 Handbook”. Page 68 has the breech pin base (bolt). T/R

What are you trying to do? Repair or make a bolt?

I know someone that makes parts. I’ve been to his place and dropped off inner mag tube to be fixed. Have also purchased the extractor for the bolt from him. He also makes screws. I purchased a set trigger screw to replace a missing one. Very knowledgeable and very helpful. Can pass along number if interested

Hi, thank you all for all your responses.

I have the stone book and I’ve looked at those pages but I do need some missing information still- particularly on the carriers for these rifles. I have two of these 1873 Rimfires and the problem is they don’t load correctly anymore. I am assuming this is because the brass carriers are worn out. That’s why I was looking for more exact dimensions particularly on the carrier where the cartridge goes.

I would appreciate the information on the man that you know of that makes some of these parts “shooter” if you could pass it along I would appreciate it. Once again thank you all for your responses and I welcome any more responses anyone to give me to this topic.Laugh

There was  real nice elevator for a 22 short which can switched to 22 long on Ebay along with a bolt a day or so ago but there are gone now.
