Hello, I have a Winchester model 62-A with a serial number: 173271. I was wondering if anyone knew what year it was made?
1946 There’s a simple lookup under resources in the page header

RE; 62A S/N 854002
Is yours chambered for 22 Short or Short/Long/Long Rifle? (22 S.L. OR LR)
Does it have Model 62 barrel markings or 62A? (62A)
Is there a “B” suffix on Serial Number? (B on Receiver, no letter on Lower Tang)
Does it have a Model 90 Flat Spring action (2 screws, 2 pins) or Model 62A Coil spring action? (not sure and reluctant to take apart as no screw has been touched on this gun)
Is the Hammer Checkered or Serrated? (Serrated)
Does it have the small 10 groove slide handle or the larger one? ( Larger one)
FYI GregThanks for the update.
