I have a 1951 Win 69A that came to me without a magazine. I was able to locate and purchase a modern (non-original) 5 round magazine that kinda works.
When the mag is loaded with 5 rounds of 22LR I can cycle the bolt on the first 4 just fine, however on the last shot the front of the magazine ‘drops” slightly and the bolt cannot pickup the round. If I push up on the bottom of the magazine while cycling the bolt it picks up the round smoothly. Looking at the magazine I can see the notch that holds it in place but cannot not figure out why the slight drop on the last round.
Any suggestions?

“Kinda works” has been my experience with most repro mags. Wouldn’t think that manufacturing a fully-functional repro mag would be rocket science, but evidently, it is.

Yes. Buy an original magazine. Plentiful on Ebay. Big Larry

The ONLY aftermarket magazines that work in the 69’s, 75’s and 52’s with no difficulty’s are Wizners. They have a W stamped on the bottom. The rest are not worth the grief. As Larry stated, you can’t go wrong with an original.Erin
Thanks for the info. Checked their website. Out of stock. Have asked they notify when a couple are available.

Big Larry: Just got an email (and then called Wisner’s). They have at this moment 7 (I just bought 2) with 5 remaining in stock and are awaiting springs to fabricate another 2,900.epags
Good news to some folks, but I am a collector at heart, and all mine must be period correct. True, I have a lot of $$$’s into magazines as many rifles I have bought over the years have had replacement magazines. The originals seem to get lost quite often. Big Larry

Erin, this doesn’t mean you can buy them for $80, that’s merely the starting BID. If they were listed on ebay, I’d take a shot at them, but I HATE these GB auctions which have no end!
The Adrian helmet (anybody know what that is?) I just paid $200 for on ebay was still at under $75 until 10 min before the auction ended; but ebay auctions do have, at least, a definite end.

They went no bid and have been relisted……… Sooooo yes, they could of been bought for $80 I believe they went no bid because of his ridiculous shipping price, they would of ended up costing $100. People that try to make money on shipping pi$$ me off. It’s a very poor business tactic in my eyes.
