Hey not sure if this is a good place to post this but ive read where Winchester bought Whitneyville arms company in 1888 so it is sorta a winchester? i am looking at a whitneyville revolver in 22 short  and one in 32 rimfire and i was wondering if there was a way to research when a revolver was made if it doesnt have a serial number? the 22 doesnt have one but the 32 does it is 17584. is there a book or other place to research them ? there isnt much online about anything whitneyville i assume it is because it is such an old company. if this isnt a good place to ask does anyone have any recommendations on where to ask? Thanks Everyone

Do they look like one of these?  https://whitneyrevolver.com/pocket-model

Winchester had the habit of buying up their competitors.  If you can get the ARMAX IV book it has the most info on the Winchester pistols I’ve seen.

Winchester made pistols for a short period starting in the mid 1870’s.  I am not sure when they quit?

But I don’t believe your pistols can be called Winchesters.

Flayderman’s shows 4 different models and a couple more variations that look like this.  In excellent condition they show $250 to $450. On the other hand they show similar Colts. Some of the Colts go for as much as 4 times the price.

Remember all price guides are out of date by the time they were printed.  You need to study the latest market/sales values.  My Flayderman catalog is 24 years old.  I buy them for the information only.  I should probably buy a new one only for any additional information not pricing.
