I’m brand new here but not to Winchester.
I have a very nice Model 61 .22 Mag and I’m told one of the members is documenting them.
How may I contact that person?
Thanks for all the help up to this point!

Hello,
That guy would be me! You can reach me at [email protected] or post the SN and a series of photos of the rifle in this forum thread.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Some may not agree with the scope on this one however it is as sentimental as it gets as is the rear sight. I will never alter this one for very personal reasons.
The good news is it goes bang as Winchester intended and 60 years later it will hit pretty good at 50 yards and rapid fire.
It is a squirrel gun SN 292547.

Merry Christmas,
Well, the Tasco scope may not be considered the apex of fine optics but if it the way the rifle came to you and is special who really cares what others think! And if you are just shooting squirrels and 50 yard paper how good does it have to be? That target looks like it will lead to many squirrel stew dinners.
Thanks so much for passing the info on to me. It is a very nice rifle.

Thanks you sir. I have never even unscrewed the scope caps and it just happens to shoot good enough. Being a rimfire guy I have some 30 meter one ragged hole .22s and old gallery guns. This is not one of those.
I just wanted to keep it like it was. It was all I could do to clean the crud off of the lens.
Also the scope touches the rear sight. I was not brought up that way!
Yep Tasco would normally be to me like putting ketchup ( non- Heinz) on lobster or elk tenderloin.
Ordinarily I would mount a vintage old school Redfield 3/4 “” or even Lyman or Unertl and I would even spring for an old Winchester A5 for this one.
Violations and all this one is so special. I’d it stays like it is.
