Have a chance to buy the 9422M from a gun show acquaintance.  I looked it over, decent wood, unfired. Pistol grip. What are these guns valued at these days?

Farmboy-

Price of 9422’s seems to be climbing but the buyers are not traditional collectors. The market seems to be flooded with like new offerings. I’ll have a better idea Monday, I’ll have an early 9422M and a later 9422 XTR on my table at the TGCA show in Waco, both 98% guns.
What’s he asking?

There is no such thing as an “unfired” Winchester.

Does it have checkered or plain stocks?

I’m well aware they are test fired at the factory–but this one, NIB, has not been fired since then. Stocks are smooth. Asking price, high in my opinion but I haven’t priced these in awhile, is $1,400.

Farmboy;

Buy it. I bought one some time ago paid a little more, but I do not regret it. Nice little guns.

By the way it is only money – still being made, the 9422 is not.

Farmboy;

A little more info – you mentioned that the rifle has a pistol grip, this makes it the Legacy model. They tend to bring a few more dollars than the standard Traditional model (straight grip). Also, the magnum sells for $50 – $100 more than the 22 LR. In my opinion I think $1400 is a fair price given your description. You will enjoy shooting this rifle and ammo will not break the bank..
