Hello all,
Model 61 RB .22 WRF SN 68171 with non original checkered slide and stock is sold out of RIA in June of 2018.

Now the rifle is listed at Kaufman Realty & Auction in their upcoming October auction and the wood has been switched out for the correct style.
So where did the wood go you might ask??? Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! The same wood appears on a standard rifle which is D&T for a side mounted scope on it. As my mom used to say “you can’t make a silk purse out of sows ear!” But I guess you can try. Look at the nick in the wood on the left side of the butt stock.

Yeah, I’ve been to a couple of his auctions. His main auction building where this rifle is going to be auctioned off is about a half hour from my place. Half tempted to go to this thing and see if I can figure out who brought it in, but then again what will that prove? RRM
