Very late rifle. # 88077. One of the last of its breed. No provision in the stock for a rear sight, but has factory plugged holes. The front sight was never attached and has two plugged holes instead of the familiar dovetail. The two scope bases are of Winchester mfg., and normally did not come attached, and were probably special ordered, or installed later. It did come with its original sling. I know there are higher numbers, but it is still one of the last ones. Big Larry

Beautiful rifle, Larry. Interesting configuration. My latest Target is 86416 and has the conventional sighting provisions.

Really not strange–this is exactly the 75 shown in the ’59 (last yr for 75) Stoeger’s (which I bought NEW), except that the Redfield rcvr. sight & Win. globe (mounted on a block, not dovetailed) have been removed. Win. blocks aren’t included as standard, but description notes they are available if wanted. A M1907 style sling is standard.

Not a lot of these around. I have had as many as 13 M75’s, in all configurations. This is the only one I have seen like it. You are correct about the bases. They all were special order. The slings for M75’s all look like the M1907, but cheaper made. I got a minty Lyman Targetspot with the rifle, and sold it for $600. That brought the cost of the rifle way down from its overinflated price. Big Larry
