Here’s mine. Given to me by an old time movie actress and stand in for Mary Pickford. It is a 22 Long and was made in 1907 before proof marks. She gave me this rifle sometime around 1959. Took it out and shot it yesterday, and the Longs fell about a foot under some water bottles at 50 yards. Sounds like a pellet rifle going off. Cleaned and waxed, it is going back into the safe. Very nice. With all this talk of 1890’s I’ll probably be forced to take my 1890 to the range this weekend.

Mrs. Dolores Strahlman. A pioneer for the Arizona Highways magazine and she was also one of Mac Sennett’s Bathing Beauties in the 20’s. She did a lot of historical work for the old stage routes in the desert around San Diego County. Her Husband was Chief Surgeon for the San Diego Police Dept. When I was 16, I worked at a down town San Diego Pharmacy and used to deliver her meds quite often. I did small things around her house as she was partially handicapped. She knew I liked guns and one day she gave me her M1890. She died in the 70’s and I will never forget that lady,Dolly. Big Larry
