Wish I had the money to get this set of consecutive serial number 75 ( http://www.gunsinternational.com/guns-for-sale-online/rifles/winchester-rifles-model-75/winchester-75-sporter-and-target-set-consecutive-serial-numbered-grooved.cfm?gun_id=100948035) . 3k, in my opinion, is a little to high a price but a set like this is definitely hard to find. The serial numbers are , Target 87938 and the Sporter 87939.

You guys are in the minority. Consecutive pairs always bring more $$$ when sold, and that is not often as there are few out there. Lots of folks buy “numbers”. High, low, consecutive, etc, etc. I have been offered a premium on my #282 M75. I too like oddball numbers. Big Larry

I’ve lived there way too long to join the majority!
Don’t dispute there are those obsessed with “numbers,” but what’s supposed to be interesting about that? (Except VERY low ser. nos.) Gun ordered with special options–that’s interesting. Gun returned for modifications–that’s interesting. Gun used by famous person or for special purpose, like police work–that’s interesting. Two guns follows each other in numerical sequence–boring.

I once found a M94 carbine in a gun shop near Salt Lake City. It was # X,X00,000. X’s are numbers I don’t remember. Now that I collect M1894’s and M94’s, I wish I would have bought that carbine. Yeah, numbers freak me out. Big Larry

I’m actually a bit obsessed with numbers but I realize that most people aren’t so I don’t assign much value to them. I once gave my brother a 94 that almost had his DOB in the serial number. That was odd. If these 75’s had been sold together when new it might make for a better story but as is they are just an amusing coincidence.
