Hello,
There is a Winchester, currently being offered on Gunbroker. It has been listed as a restored Winchester 1890-62A. This is the description given:
“Winchester 1890/62A, I am selling a completely restored Winchester 1890/62A. The trigger housing and butt stock are from a Winchester 1890. The receiver, barrel and all internals are from a Winchester 62A. The rifle functions 100% correctly and will shot .22 shorts, .22 longs and .22 long rifles. The serial number on the 1890 trigger frame is 617018, the serial number on the 62A receiver is 301415.”
Would you consider it a Frankenchester, and given what has been done to it, what might the gun’s value be?
I must admit, I’m considering bidding, as I’ve been wanting to buy a good condition Model 62 to shoot.
Thank you in advance for any information.
