Is a Model 1890 chambered in .22WRF very common in comparison to the other chamberings? Would a buyer expect to pay a premium for this chamber all else being equal?

Dave,

The 22 WRF is the second most common of the (4) .22 rim fire cartridges offered in the Model 1890(90). Generally speaking though, it does bring more $$$ than the 22 Short, and definitely more than the 22 Long.  Due to 22 Long Rifle not being offered until 1918, it brings a higher value in identical condition to a 22 WRF. In the later years of production, the 22 Long Rifle and 22 WRF were the most commonly produced.

If you mean everything equal then maybe.  There never were any antique Model 1890’s chambered in WRF.  Now if each gun is an antique the WRF is by far the most desirable all else being equal.

Most important where value is concerned is condition.  So, if one is interested in obtaining a high condition Model 1890/90, it’s not likely that a premium is going to break a deal, regardless of the caliber.

I just realized that I made a mistake.  I meant there were no antique 1890’s in 22 Long rifle.  WRF is the most desirable in an antique.
