I recently purchased a Winchester Model 61 pre-war 22 LR Octagon barrel S/N 28813 through GB. I understand this rifle sold through RIA in Sept 2015. I would like to see the write-up in their catalog. Mostly interested in the right side lettering – patents pending or patents #. If anyone has a copy of this auction I would appreciate a copy of the auction page. Email address – [email protected].   Thank you for any information or comments.  RR

Do you know that you can look it up yourself?  RIA has all of their past auctions available to research (back to September 2009). https://www.rockislandauction.com/detail/65/531/winchester-61-rifle#detail

Bert;

       Thank you very much. Your knowledge of the firearms arena and related items is beyond belief.

        I guess I was in the wrong web site.  I went into RIA archived events in the proxibid web. It only went to February 2016.

        Thanks again for your help.    RR

Bert lives in the “aqua” state Washington. He can’t swim so he can’t go out in the rain season, so he memorizes everything Winchester !

Actually, I can swim very well.  Having grown up in northwestern Oregon (Seaside & Astoria), you have to learn to swim real early in life.  During the latter half of my career in the U.S. Navy, I became an expert swimmer, and even made elite status by swimming more than 250-miles in a one year period.  I swam an average of 1.5-miles daily (5 days/week) for two consecutive years in the late 1990s.  The Bangor Submarine Base where I was stationed has an Olympic sized pool.

However, you are correct in the latter regard… I do try to memorize everything that I can in regards to old Winchesters!  My wife tells me that I have a mental illness.
