I use those Bore Store silicone treated sleeves for storage in my horizontal safe. Thick enough for protection from handling bumps and thin enough to allow efficient storage. They also have tags to make it easier to find what you’re digging for. I even use them for local range trips. Only problem is I seem to run out of them from time to time.
I have a similar process. I use the Allen silicone treated gunsocks and attach a laminated tag to the cinch string. They seem to work well and are reasonably priced since I have the same problem with supply and demand as you.

Here are J.R.’s photos of his boxed Model 61 (G6101R);
It looks all correct to me. I would guess at least $1400-$1500+ on Gunbroker (minus the auction fees.). I can’t tell if it is a grooved receiver from the way it is sitting in the box but it possibly is which would increase the value slightly. The earlier rifles with the colored picture boxes bring even more.

677, 697
Hmmmm, are those separate models or a subset of the Model 67 and Model 69? The barrels are not marked 677 or 697, they just have a separate catalog number like all the other 67 and 69 models equipped with different sights.
I have them listed as part of the 166 .22 rim fire catalog numbers in the master list but did not consider them a “base model”.
Good point though.

The guy I got it from told me he hunted a lot as a kid then went to fight in the Korean war and he mail ordered it from there but after returning home he wasn’t interested in hunting anymore so it Sat in the box in his closet all those years.
Interesting story, the Korean conflict was June 25, 1950 – July 27, 1953. His rifle was made in 1956.

Did m77 have different roll marks for 77c and 77t ?
This is a great check-off list for us addicts. Thanks for posting
( was the thumbtrigger ever stamped m99?)
44
No, the barrels are marked with the same roll-mark (Model 77) regardless of the feed mechanism.
No, the thumbtrigger was never marked “Model 99”, it was only referred to that way in some Winchester literature.
If I really wanted to scare you addicts I would post the complete list of all the Winchester .22 catalogued rifles. I purposely kept the list brief so as not to scare off any potential collectors.
