I’m trying to discern this odd ball match of parts on this gun. The stock/trigger part of the take down clearly shows model 1890 and serial number 69280 (year 1897 if i did my googling right). But the receiver has a round 23″ barrel (post 1932, again google) marked model 90 with an odd 2 half circle marks I can’t find any info about. I see no other marks or serial numbers on the receiver

thanks

Hello Michael,

Per the original Winchester factory records, Model 1890 S/N 69280 was manufactured in late April of 1899.  The vast majority of the websites that are found on the internet listing dates of manufacture for old Winchesters are grossly inaccurate. Frown

The half circle marks are most likely the Winchester mail order proof mark.  If you can, post a clear picture of it (or send it to me via email).
