Im fixing this rifle I found in a barn and everything seems fine cleaned it up and everything, only problem is now is that the .22 wont elevate from the loading tube into the barrel. I was wondering if anyone has had any similar problems and can let me know would be much appreciated. Thank you

Check the port the cartridge fits into in the cartridge lifter. If there is any debris in the back of the port it won't allow the cartridge to go back into the port far enough to clear the receiver. Check to see if it functions with 22 shorts or longs, if those work the above mentioned problem is the culprit.

Check the carrier lever spring to see if it is broken or fatigued.  You can re-bend it a little as a test to see if it is weak and the culprit.
