That’s true, but was the 22 magnum made during the entire production era of the model 61? It is my understanding that the 61 production started in 1932 and ended in 1963. When did Winchester begin making the 22 magnum in the model 61?
I believe it was 1960, but it may have been as early as mid-year 1959. Again, the serial number on your Model 61 will tells us for sure.

Hello,
The first magnum version of the Model 61 rifle was in the SN 284500 range and corresponds to 1960 production. There were just short of 20,000 magnums produced that year. Can I get the last two digits of your SN so that I can add the rifle into my research survey? Any chance that the caliber designation is stamped .22 W.M.R.F. on the left side of the barrel?

None of the post before mine or mine have the pencil symbols, there are only two symbols send a PM, or quote this post that’s, in the top right hand corner. Also, can you post a picture from your files on your computer? or do you need to use imgur. and use a URL?
As a WACA Guest member, you can only post a URL from a host website like Imgur, and apparently you do not have the access to edit any posts (including your own). If you upgrade to a full WACA membership, you will have full access to post pictures and edit your posts, and receive the quarterly published WACA Collector magazine, the annual calendar, and discounts at many different museums around the country.
