Model 61 Hammer Catch problem|Winchester .22 Rim Fire|Forum|Winchester Collector

I have a Model 61 for shot only that was my great grandfathers, had sat in a closet for decades. I took it apart and cleaned it up, and reassembled. Seems to function fine, except for the hammer catch. It will not work, but if I pull the trigger, the action opens fine.

I assume I either didn’t get it back together correctly, or have worn springs. It seems that either the hammer doesn’t fall back far enough when cocked, or the hammer catch isn’t in the proper place to reach the ledge on the hammer. If I push the hammer down slightly, the hammer catch will go on the ledge and hold it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
