Perusing the Internet, I found for sale, a near minty M06 # 870115 B for sale. I have a near minty M62-A with the # 853279 B. I know the M62-A was made with an earlier receiver, but to be numbered lower than a M06? Kind of scary when you think about it. My own M06 has a very high number as well. # 788406. I am pretty certain all three were made with M90 receivers.   Big Larry

Larry,

Somebody has made a typographical error… the serial numbers for the Model 90/06 never reached 870115. The highest serial number made was 854747.

BL,

Do you have a link to that sale?

FWIW; the highest 06/90/62 serial number that I have documented is an 06 (SN 854519B). That receiver was serialized in June of 1942.

It is on Guns International # 101013354.   The 8 may be a six. It is very hard to tell. He states 1928. Nicest M06 I have ever seen. Big Larry

I agree that first digit is a “6” and not an “8” so that one does not make it into the Late Production/Parts Cleanup survey that starts at 713200.

Speaking of which, the ratio of 90s to 06s is holding right at 65/35 in the late production guns (serial numbers 713200 to 846022).
