That is a Lyman 1A and looks like the correct WS code for a model 90, 06 based on the staff height.

Thanks. I did a lot of reading on the subject last night before I came to the conclusion that it was, in fact, a Lyman 1-A as it has the turn down peep. Also found that it is correct for a M1906. Factory? We will never know, but it seems a lot of these old pump guns have this sight attached. Thank you, Big Larry
If you remove it and look at the condition of the finish is about the only way to tell.

But even that doesn’t mean it left the factory that way–the original buyer could have added the sight right after he bought it, so there’d be no finish wear under the base. I doubt many of these were ordered directly from the factory, as opposed to being bought in local gun stores.

I’ve gotten no more money for the guns I’ve sold with tang sights. I’m referring to Lyman no1 & 2’s post 1890, not thick base or long range etc.
I personally like a tang sight so for the $200 more I might get, I just as soon keep it & put it in a keeper & sell the gun without it. Most times the buyer ask to see the upper tang without the sight anyway, so I’ve been removing them before listing or sending pics.

Do you have any stock screws? I want to take two I have, off. Don’t care for them. Thanks, Big Larry

Plenty of folks (not me–I have several I’m not using) ready to take them off your hands, IF you don’t put crazy ebay prices on them. (I look at tang sights on ebay every day, & see the same sucker-priced sights listed again & again; the ripoff artists listing them don’t give up!) AZshot can use one right now for his new SS.

Thanks Clarence. I will order a couple. Don’t know what I will do with the sights. Probably just keep them for now. Big Larry
