I am looking at a Model 69A and needs some help as to originality. Sorry I cant post photos but will try my best to identify the features.

25″ barrel

Swept back polished bolt and trigger guard but magazine surround is blued

Front sight is ramped and hooded

Barrel not dovetailed for rear sight

Receiver sight is 80a model with flat side receiver

Stock has tapered foreend

Receiver is grooved for scope

Seller identifies it as a Target Model

any help appreciated as to identifying approximate date of manufacture and originality.

It is not a target model. It is a standard G6901R. The second most common M69-A. Tapered forearm, most likely post WW2. The pre war guns have a blunt forearm and are more desirable. Grooved receiver around 1954. How much is he asking? I have a near mint pre war, and paid $550 for it. Big Larry

Big Larry, Many thanks! My suspicions were correct thanks to information from this forum. Seller asking $375. Certainly not mint but very good i would say.
