Funny you should mention that, do you mind if I ask why you’re interested in the Model 68?

Also a real nice early one at Collectors Firearms. $495. They will deal with you. Big Larry
Well, I would hope so, if you’re talking about the place in Houston–their prices on other guns are so sky-high I don’t give them a second look; the fact that I see the same guns unsold after many months suggests others feel the same.

Actually, they are not hard to deal with, and yes, some of their prices are very high, but who’s aren’t these days. I have two M68’s, 1st and 2nd models I bought a few years back for $300 shipped. Just needed them for my 22 collection.
BTW Clarence, the deal on that A5 fell through. Not getting it after all. Did get the homemade box though. My friend did a great job on it. Big Larry

I think some gun shops won’t buy used .22’s like the Model 68 because of the low profit potential. I’ve left a card with a few detailing what I’m interested in. My local Cabela’s used to get them in now and then but never saw a nice 68. OTOH they don’t seem to think they’re collectibles so price is fair.

I am 71 and my father gave me one for Christmas when I was 9 . My Brother ended up with it but he won’t sell it to me . A lot of childhood memories in that gun. My dad paid 10 dollars for that gun in 1959. Back then he budgeted 5 dollars for Christmas gifts and birthday gifts . Since my birthday is January 25th he gave me the gun as a combination Christmas Birthday gift.

I hope you find one, Paul. I’ve been keeping an eye out for one “just because” and not having much luck.
