I will be there for sure, I got a deal on a table in the middle of the back room. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Not planning on it but with retirement fast approaching I have some vacation time to burn. How are the room rates?
Mike
Here’s the link to the discounted rate: $108. plus the “resort fee” & tax. It is still up as of 1/7/24. Much better than what is on Expedia…. $307. per night!

It was good to see friends and connect with new people. Another year where the walk in crowd was not strong. It got downright quiet after 1pm all three days. Sales were a bit soft. I did sell every Lyman #6 flip sight I had. 22G, 22B and 22H sights & elevators were in demand. Original Carbine ladder sights were “un-obtainium”… none to sell or be found to buy. Tang sight sales were slow. I did pick up several nice gloss Leupold scopes and three Unertl target scopes. On the firearm side, a Paul Jaeger custom stocked & engraved pre-war Model 70 in .220 Swift caught my eye and I couldn’t put it down. Several Benjamin’s later, I was the new owner but had to have it shipped home, the wait will be worth it. While I stayed pretty close to my table, a good friend picked up 7 clean, unmodified pre-64 Model 70’s over the three days…needless to say, he was ecstatic and I was very envious. The Annual Las Vegas Antique Gun Show is something that should be on everybody’s “bucket-list” to attend. There are some amazing pieces of history always on display. Cheers

JWA & Elliot we’re running around “hoovering” up all the good stuff too. The WACA area, as always, had some great rifles on display. There was also a Colt Large Frame “Lightning” rifle display that was amazing. It won best of show…
I would have loved to have seen that! I’ll bet Mark and Erin had a couple peeks at it.

Rumor has it that several of Erin’s Lightnings were in that display. WACA member Michael Kelly put together a wonderful display that also won “Best of Show” at the Colt Collectors Association show in Scottsdale last fall. Its next stop will be at the NRA convention, which is unfortunately on the same dates as the Colorado Show.
We got home late last night after a long drive. We had a great time at the show and managed to sell several guns. It did seem lightly attended by the public. All of the guns we sold went to fellow table holders. It’s a great show to see an array of very nice antique firearms and the social event of the season for like-minded collectors. Mark

Very Cool! I’ve probably watched you shoot some jugs with some of those Lightnings on the Cinnabar

Now that should be a sight to see! Does it have a schnoble fore-end?
Finally received the Las Vegas purchase, a Paul Jaeger custom pre-war Model 70 rifle today… will be interesting to see how it shoots.
