The seller is clueless and so is his clientel. $270 with 13 days to go. I had to check the bid history and it’s self explanatory. It’s a good parts gun but has already exceeded what I would pay for it.

Frankenchester! Appears to be a third variation bolt crudely placed in a second variation receiver and a much later butt plate. I lost interest before I could research the barrel markings but I’d bet a cold Coke the barrel has been swapped. And they say it shoots? I’d try it with a tire and a string first, if at all.

Actually what they have got is a matched receiver set from a model 1906 dated at 1909. You are correct that if it actually were a 1903 vintage 1890 it would be a second model receiver. The barrel is stamped model 90 which wasn’t available until 1919. Moving on to the stock, I would guess it’s off of a 62A, The coil spring abutment required a bit more relief cut in the stock to get it snug to the receiver. As you can see it’s got about an 1/8″ gap behind the rear tang. The 1903 butt plate is undersize for the stock which makes my suspicions for the 62A stock even stronger as the 62A’s were a bit beefier than 1906 stocks. I just checked it again and it’s now over $400. Good grief Charlie Brown!

Unbelievable!! This thing is over $500 with 2 days to go. I think I will have to start putting parts guns back together!

Don’t forget to take an advanced course in writing the kind of preposterous hyperbole & brainless drivel that ought to insult the intelligence of anyone with an IQ above about 85.
