At the current $89 price that’s a steal. And it’s the hard cover version to boot! I just looked on Amazon and hardcovers are asking over $500.00.

Now find me that Model 1895 cheaply.  ?

I didn’t expect it to go out of print that quickly and escalate rapidly in price.

Not being a huge fan of the 1895, it’s pricy for a casual reference.

Create a “Winchester 1895” saved search on ebay in the “book” category, but don’t hold your breath.  But it you’re not a ’95 enthusiast, why bother?  Questions about them are answered here free of charge.

Just bought a hardcopy of Ned Schwings #1 22 book for $125 on Ebay. Like new condition. Generally, they go for twice that or more. I have Houze’s book, but have written all over the inside. I don’t collect M52’s any longer. Just sold my M52-C BULLGUN.   Big Larry

Not more than mine.  Doing so is almost unavoidable if you’re serious about tracing the 52’s many design changes.  I find its organization haphazard, with info that should be in one place scattered over many pages.  Still, it’s the best there is at the present time.

Well, I have numerous firearms books, many on models and makes l might never own.  I enjoy the read.  Plus it helps to be knowledgeable about all firearms.  You never know when you might stumble across one.  Having a general interest in the Model 1895, if I stumbled across a copy of the book cheaply enough I would buy it and read it.

What was the original sale price of the book?  Wasn’t it $79?  For me that’s cheap enough to buy just to have.  I can’t explain why I didn’t buy it a few years ago.  I guess I didn’t expect it to go out of print so quickly and then be offered at extortionist prices!

That’s close to the price of JWA’s Model 69 book, still available, but copies are dwindling, I believe.  Far more detailed, comprehensive, & better illustrated than Houze’s 52 book, though to be fair, it’s priced considerably higher.
