Model 62A , as it says on barrel,  with a lever action!

There’s a few places the furniture doesn’t look right. A well made gun but is it from Winchester?

Very unlikely.  There are also a few Model 1890 rifles out there that are similar… but are known to be aftermarket conversions.

I used to deal with a pretty reputable Dealer, back in the Day,(we perceived).

I even bought 112 Winchester .22 Cal Rifles from him, after haggling for a several  yrs. kinda creating a build up, of want, and desire.

After serious, inspection, to the Collection, I found most were correct, with a few suspected, Topic of Several conversations, as to POSSIBLY, being, EXPERIMENTAL !

All we had were the Madis book, and a few .22 cal. books, no computer.

A few of us would meet, and marvel at the Collection, and always speculate, at the “what if” !

I have to say, it was fun, and I learned a lot, and I did okay, financially with it, as I have pretty much moved on from the enjoyable, Winchester .22 cal. collecting!

I  kept Several of the most desirable, rare, and hard to find Winchester .22 cal. Rifles to pass down to the Boys, and Possibly theirs.

My point being, that this fellow, might have done a little shenanigans with a few specimens, creating a couple Frankenchesters, himself, as one was so bad, that I sent it to Turnbull, and had it re done, to a top notch Fancy engraved, case Hardened, Model 90 Shooter, that we enjoy today!

Life is a lesson in itself, as I allowed the “what if”, to grab a hold of me, and run with it!

Yeah it can be a disease!  lol ! Smile

I kinda like it.  I don’t know about $2500 for it.  Wonder how good the action is and how well it shoots?
