My projects have been on hold for a bit due to a torn rotator cuff but I finally got this one finished up. Way overdue……… The lighting doesn’t due my CCH much justice but I am pleased with the outcome. I have not decided if I will get it checkered or not. Your thoughts on checkering?

Hello Erin,

The rifle is pretty much gorgeous just as it is.  There is no reason to try and “doll it up” any further.  Congrats on a fine project well done.  Definitely something to be proud of.

Nice job!  Thanks for posting the pictures.  I have a soft spot for the first models, they just look clean and simple to me and a neat pairing with an early 1892 or 1894.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

I started the next project, it’s a first rifle for my grandson. Winchester model 1904 needing the full monty. It’s a first year production so the bore was toast from black powder. I installed the barrel liner and have the barrel polished up through 180. Working on that miserable Gumwood stock now. I will post a few pics when it’s finished.
