A few of the regulars here have discussed getting an 1873 22 cal. in the past month or so.
I acquired one on a awkward trade at Cody. A few of the Forum attendees saw the rifle, including Bert.
I’m just throwing this out in case there is some actual interest in cash paying members ! I have not taken photos yet,
but will if there is an interest. It’s a 22 short, octagon barrel with good wood and blued receiver, but the barrel has some slight bluing loss.
The bore cleaned up well and is very good for it’s age. Rifling is there and slight pitting. I would put the rifle in the 75% range. Standard sights.

Nice little rifle, enjoyed looking it over. With my interest in odd things and .22’s I should be interested but I’ve got all I can play with for awhile.

With all those books, I’d imagine you’ll be tied up !
Books, a rifle in dire need of some TLC, a new mould (for 38-55 bullets!) that needs breaking in, and a few .22’s that need shooting. 😉 Looks like I’ll be busy til hunting season.
