I came across this buttplate the other day and I admit I have never seen one like it. It is new and has never been on a gun. The quality is very good as in factory quality not reproduction. It is blue with a very slight purple tint. It is not an off black but a true blue. I don’t know if it is for a 22 or a shotgun. It looks post 64 to me.
THIS ALL STARTED WITH JUST ONE GUN!
That looks like a butt plate from a Winchester 190/290. They are normally black, I have never seen a blue one.

Its was cast in a mold from the looks of the back side.
